"I hear you be the block, but I'm the light that keep the streets on"

A Vacant Lot Case Study
Virtues: Love, Lust, Emotion

Energy. Energy is the driving force that causes us to do what we do; whether it is striving to achieve our goals, drive, determination, we all have a source of energy that fuels us to achieve what we desire - whether it may be legal or illegal gratifications.

Now the source of one's energy may lie within themselves, but more times than not, that energy source is manifested or derived from a woman. I'm sure you have heard it before; 'behind every strong man, is a strong woman'; and I think for the most part, that is true. When a due is with a woman, and the relationship is good, positive, those qualities will usually be reflected in that dude's attitude.

I've seen dudes lose their hustle, drive, charisma as soon as something bad happened in their relationship with their woman; it was like when the woman left, she took their drive, soul, heart. I didnt understand it at first, but now I get it; women affect us greatly, and our the reasons (for the most part) to why we do what we do lies in the fact that we try to appease our women. Thus, it can be said that women are a driving force in our lives, and when that force is absent, then a void is left. And that void which represented a plethora of feelings of not only 'trying' to appease your women, but happiness, affection, respect, and emotions are now absent -- and more times than not, one can dwell on these lost cognitive feelings which would have a direct correlation on one's overall productivity.

I usually talk in the third person, but even I -- yes I, have been a victim of this effect, but the key is to not let it affect you too long, because as we all should know, energy can not be destroyed -- it is always transformed into another form.

You have to change-up the form!

Peace.

" We can take it to the gloves and I can show you the hand speed"

"We can take it to the gloves and I can show you the hand speed"
Virtures: Fighting, Extreme Sport, Ignorance, Resolution
Vacant Lot Case Study

When all else fails in disputes, arguments, logic, sometimes the only way to resolve a problem is thru physical means. This quote suggests that an exchange of 'hand speed' or fist-fighting, scrapping, or whatever regional slang is used for fighting, is a viable way of settling disputes. From young to old, I'm sure we all have encountered those ignorant people that just push, and push you to test your 'gangster'; and unfortunately, they do not respond to logic, but they respond to acts of force.

This brings up an interesting topic of the whole ultimate fighting phenomenon. 'Extreme Fighting' is not anything really new; its been on pay per view since the late 80's, but it was always extremely barbaric with practically no rules; there was a referee, but the fighters could practically do anything they wanted to each other. It did have a following, but didn't garner huge success and was known as a violent sport. However, in the last 6 years or so, extreme fighting has been revamped with an almost 'ingenious' concept – rules. Solid rules, such as a restriction on the types of holds, grabbing, etc. Apparently the application and enforcement of rules was the key factor for the growth and acceptability of extreme fighting to be a viable sport. Extreme fighting has gain massive exposure, cable T.V. production deals, video games, reality shows, and of course more pay-per-view events.

Any type of fighting is usually negative and hurtful (to the party that gets clapped-up), but it usually brings about a release of frustration and anger that will resolve a situation – however, in the street it may do more harm than good (the 'payback' effect). So think carefully, and remember that when your watching and mimicking all of the UFC-ish, they're ain't usually anyone acting as a 'referee' in those streets; its every man for himself at ALL costs – the essence of barbarism, the same essence that was hampering Extreme fighting's progression.

Peace.

Why are you trying to fight Momentum??

"Why are you trying to fight momentum? "

Virtues
: strength, perserverance, desire, resolve

A Vacant Lot Case Study, check out more

Going against the grain; sometimes we see things in life that can just baffle us - as we see people in situations that just seem like they are fighting a force that will inevitably defeat them. I guess I’m trying to get at the fact that some will 'fight prevailing' winds of logic when they believe in something - and its not that the logic is wack or faulty or dumb (very subjective); its just that the probability for success is very minimal.
Probability is not based off logic (evaluating it), but is based on heart, passion. Which I can't fault one ... too much, for doing so.

However, I guess our heart/soul drives us to pursue something - even when all the warning signs warn us of trouble or failure. Which would explain why certain people pursue music careers (i.e. American Idol), but they have no talent whatsoever, or why one would stick w/ their significant other; even though all symbols point to failure (family, social, racial, etc). But the power of 'belief' is very strong, its probably what most of us uses to get thru our mundane days (school, work). Having that desire to overcome probability is probably why we fight momentum.

I know that I fight momentum everyday; waking out of bed to go to work, facing people that wish for your demise, a society that stereotypes you and places limits on your potential, and a system that restricts innovation and confines you to systematic thinking. But I know that I fight momentum because I believe in my strength and ability to do so much more in life than just the routine, mundane, systematic way that is prescribed to us. In my case, I think the 'momentum' is myself; I know I can do more, but I truly think that work and my schooling are restricting my potential (even though they provide benefits, money & knowledge, respectively). So my own momentum is myself, and how strong my will/drive is to be efficient … which I really got to work on, we all probably have to work on that.

Now, it may sound like I’m some sort of idealist ( I hope I’m not), I like to think that I’m a Realist; I guess ultimately, one must decide whether to continue to reject momentum and continue to strive to achieve their goals, OR some people may need to realise and come to that ill-fated assertion that whatever it is they are doing or trying to pursue can not work; accept the momentum that your bound for failure.

Think about it.
